Finally a trip!

We had some spare time during our visit home (sorry sis, I couldn't spend all the time helping you with the wedding preparation, could I? You were all under control anyways!), so we went on a road trip to Lake Louise, Banff, and Kelowna. I have not been there for years and everything seems to have changed. Drastically changed! The places got so much more touristy. They are so developed, almost lost the natural beauty. We were traveling at low season too. I couldn't imagine what the places would be like when it were summer (high season)!

In Banff we visited the cave, the gondola, the hotspring. We snowboarded one day. We also drive all the way to visit the Columbia icefield. We couldn't hike at the various National Parks since trails were still closed. According to the rangers, late May or early June is when the trails are opened... We went a bit too early.

Kelowna has emerged from a little old town with "Ogopogo" as the main tourist attraction to the new town with all the fancy golf courses and wineries. We don't golf, but we drink. So visit the wineries we did. The fanciest one is Mission Hill. The proprietor Anthony Von Mandl had a vision and he built the estate winery with such nice architecture. Of course it helps when he could make enough money somewhere else to build his dream.
