Mindless Blogging of Trips

Back in January, my sister and I have been planning a trip to Europe during around the memorial weekend. Of course when the war started, we scraped the idea. However, now that the war is almost over, this Europe trip idea definitely worths exploring again :)

Last week, when we just started researching again, a deal from Virgin Atlantic airline came up. For around $650 or so, two people can fly from San Francisco to London Heathrow! Wow! That day was the last day for the offer and of course Virgin Atlantic website was completely overloaded. We tried and tried and tried, both online and calling the 800 number. Finally we were able to get through and booked the tickets. Phew!

Now that we got the tix all figured out, it is time to do a little planning. When do we start? Where do we want to go? How to go around the city? Of course there are many websites and books that offer different deals and travel tips. Information overflow!!!

Sis wants to visit Stonehenge, Cotswold, Oxford, Bath, Leeds Castle, Canterbury, Dover... My goodness! I have no idea where I want to go :( There are London Passes, Eurailpass, Selectpass, BritRailpass, etc, etc, etc. Where do I start???
Just came back from Yosemite. This time we did a luxurious car camp trip, in which we brought
1) air mattress
2) folding chairs
3) tiger prawns for dinner
4) wine
No wonder bears in Yosemite just LOVE we human visitors!!!

We also went to Yosemite late! I mean, really really LATE. We initially planned to leave Tracy by 8:00 AM, so we woke up at 7:00 AM. Fair enough. I don't know what we did that morning; but we ended up leaving Tracy at 10:00 AM. 10:00 AM!!! If you could imagine! What the hell did we do during those 2 hours? Putting makeups on for a show???

Obviously we arrived at the campsite late. By the time we finished setting up the tents and ate lunch, it was already 2:00 PM. We took the free Yosemite Valley bus to go to Upper Yosemite Fall. From there we hiked up 2 hours on the Upper Yosemite Fall trail. Of course we never made it to the top since by 5:00 PM the weather was getting very cold. We were only half way. So we hiked back down. However those three hours of hiking did lots of beating to our bodies (or maybe we are just wimps). Our bodies ached all over the next day.

We ended our trip by waking up late and with loud generator noise from the RV next to us. That guy ended up getting a warning from the rangers :D. We packed and left the campsite around 10 AM... the official time to check out the camp ground.
